1. What is the minimum age to drive a VW camper van?
We are covered by our insurance company to hire our VW campers out to people from 25 years old to 70 years old. However they will consider 21 to 24 year olds providing you have held a clean licence for over 2 years, so please enquire. Sorry but we cannot get insurance for students.

2. Can we have more than one driver?
Yes, providing our insurance covers you as above there are no restrictions or extra cost for multiple drivers.

3. Can we take the camper abroad?
At the moment we are only insured for use in the UK, we may amend this in the future if there is a demand.

4. Do we need our own insurance?
Yes, our insurance covers our campers, equipment and you as the named driver(s) so you will need cover for holiday cancellation and your own equipment e.g. bikes.

5. What happens if our van breaks down?
We check and service our vans frequently so this is very unlikely but just in case we have a network of classic VW specialists around the West Country who are willing to come out to you and get the camper back on the road plus our vans are members of the AA so you can use their services should it be necessary.  We also provide oil and jump leads for your use and will authorise repairs up to £50 providing you can show receipts on your return.

6. Can we bring our dog on holiday?
Sorry but due to customer allergy, the extra valeting that would be required and the potential damage a dog may cause to our interiors we have to say no other than special circumstances.

7. Can the campers take child seats?
Yes, Matilda has 1 three point seat belt and 1 lap belt in the rear.  Lola has 2 three point belts and 1 lap belt.  Both have full 3 point belts on the front seats.

8. I'm looking at booking camp sites, do we need electric hook up?
We recommend it especially if you want to use the fridge.  It uses about 7 amps per hour, more if the door is being opened frequently so can drain the leisure battery if it's not topped up by plugging into the mains when camped up overnight.
